Frequently Asked Questions

We try to make ourselves available for a 15-minute Discovery Call within 2-3 weeks of the time you first reach out. At some points in the year that's not always possible, but we try!
-
On that Discovery Call we can give you a sense of our current project load and when we might be able to start your work. Project timelines vary widely depending on the scope, but when we give you a proposal for your project we will try to estimate how long each phase will take us.

The sooner the better! We are often the first person that clients come to, because we can help with everything from dreaming up potential options, to working out new floor plans, to helping connect you with all the right people to make your job run smoothly. We love to be able to plan ahead. For a large renovation, it is best to reach out 6-9 months before the time you would like to begin. If that time has passed, don't worry! Just give us a call and we can let you know where and how we can pick things up from wherever you are.
-
While we love a heads up, we do have some designers on staff who might be available to help you on short notice on an hourly basis. It never hurts to give us a call!
FAQ’S / Timing
FAQ’S / Sourcing
-
We have a lot of great sources, many of which aren't even available to the general public. We can shop locally or from certain brands, if you'd like, but our power is best leveraged through to-the-trade-only vendors. Our team has years of experience learning how to get you the best bang for your buck. For construction materials like tile, stone and cabinetry, we have some great local sources, but can also be flexible and source from wherever you or your contractor prefers.

We charge the standard retail price for all items, plus tax and shipping, just like you would be charged if you did the purchasing yourself. We cannot match sale or promotional pricing from retailers, however. When we do the purchasing, we handle everything: placing the orders, dealing with customer service, tracking deliveries, taking care of getting a replacement if something arrives broken, etc. If we don't do your purchasing, we cannot help with your orders in any way.
-
Like any retail business, we charge standard retail pricing. Any commission or trade-only pricing that we may receive as a result of our established vendor relationships goes toward how our firm covers the hours that go into managing your orders once they are placed, and dealing with things like damages, delays, inventory issues, etc.. This keeps the process simple, transparent, and consistent for all clients. And it means that when something inevitably goes wrong with an order for you, we've got you covered without charging you for the extra time spent to fix it.
FAQ’S / Pricing & Fees
-
It depends on your scope. Some phases are billed as a flat fee and others hourly. Final costs may vary based on project complexity, and the level of revisions required. For instance, we charge a flat fee for all of our design-only phases. That includes mood boards/concept design, furniture plans, sourcing and selecting items. We offer one round of revisions at each checkpoint (feedback on moodboards with the opportunity to have us revise, feedback on design selections with the opportunity to have us revise any of the selections in one round after they are presented). Any additional revisions will be charged hourly. For project management, construction management, site visits, coordination with other trades, we charge hourly. This can vary widely depending on the project, so we keep this transparent and clear -- if we spend time working with you or on your project in this setting, we'll charge by the hour. In some cases we offer a "consulting only" scope. This means you are charged for our in-person time only, and we do not spend time outside of our meetings working on your project. This is charged hourly after the hours are accrued, with the exception of the initial hours, which are charged as a batch of 4 hours to get things started.
