Hi! I'm Kate.

I love getting lost in the challenge of a new design project, and emerging with a beautiful solution. I am an insatiable researcher, a creative problem solver, and a super selective shopper. Off the clock, I can be found working in my garden or enjoying the outdoors. I love cooking and entertaining, and spending time with my husband (my favorite custom carpenter!), two boys, two stepdaughters, labradoodle and two cats. I fully understand the need for durable and livable interiors, given the zoo that I live with.

My academic background is in architecture and psychology, so you can think of me as your design therapist. I'm here to make your space, and your life, work better for you.

My personal aesthetic centers around comfortable furniture, bold pops of color, and personalized touches that make you feel at home in your space. Nothing too precious or perfect that it can't be lived in, but brighter, happier, and more 'you' than you ever imagined it could be.

Allyson brings all the pieces of a design project together to create spaces that feel beautiful, cohesive, and uniquely yours. A creative thinker, organized planner, and natural collaborator, she manages hourly design clients at Kate Eckstein Design, helping each project come to life while making the process feel approachable and enjoyable.

Outside the office, Allyson is often coaching or cheering on her three kids from the sidelines. She also loves a beach day, a great book or podcast, and any excuse to get creative with arts and crafts.
